    Go to winter coat

    Hi all

I'm currently looking for a winter coat but not sure about styling. Looking for something warm, ideally 3/4 length..most likely to be worn with black skinnies and boots.with knits and cardies..

Currently weighing up this Parka from Topman Khaki Heavyweight Water Resistant Parka with Detachable Hood - Topman
Also considering this from uniqlo MEN Wool Blended Duffle Coat*-*UNIQLO*UK*Online*fashion*store

Would go a bit higher in terms of budget so wondered if you guys had any advice or suggestions.

Do you guys have a go to winter coat? If so, what would you suggest?

    Cheers

    Weighing this up too

TWO - BUTTON COAT - Coats - Outerwear - MAN | ZARA United Kingdom

Thinking it might go better with the boots/jeans and could even double up as a work coat over a suit

I guess it depends on the look you want really. Plenty of people will advocate Parkas as they work casually but can also be thrown over a suit thanks to those pesky Mods.

For me it's always going to be an overcoat really, I'd say if you're going for one then grey's the best colour, works both day and night and is probably more versatile than navy even. The only thing I'd say is I'm not sure if I'd go for herringbone as it could potentially limit what you wear it with aka patterned trousers etc.

Edit: Just grabbed this from Pinterest, Will Smith knows.

The parka looks OK, don't really like the pockets on it though and it looks a tad short.

I don't like duffles at all, so I won't go there.

The Zara one looks great - would be worth checking to see what the quality is like.

3 completely different coats though - if it's a "go-to" coat, you really need to pick one that goes with your style. Personally, I would have to have a parka and an overcoat.

    Thanks DG

Any Parka's you would suggest? Around the 100 budget?

I have a grey pea-coat which fits the bill, but ain't great in the rain.

Last year i layered a slim fit denim jacket under an m65 field jacket, which more suited my action man commute and shitty London weather. Probably going to be my go to again this year unless we have some beautiful dry crisp winter days - and then the aforementioned pea-coat will get a wear.

So what i was meant to add was that if you find yourself in the rain a lot, you may prefer not to become the wet dog in the woolen uniqlo.

Haven't seen any this year, but then again, I haven't been looking. You should check out Shopstyle - ShopStyle UK

    This one is sweet...

Might be a little bit over budget though!
