I briefly lived in Paris in the late 90s / early 00ies and remember this craze well. It got so mad that there were usually huge queues of Far Eastern tourists outside LV every day. They eventually limited the number of items each person could buy each day. After that you used to see the same people queued up at opening time every day the whole week of their stay in Paris.

Some of my friends and family used to get approached walking past, given a bundle of Euros to buy stuff and told when you come back with the bags we'll sort you out a few hundred for your troubles. There were plenty of backpackers at the time who paid for their whole trips by lingering outside a couple of times a week.

Yup, last time I was in Paris there were still queues outside all the Chanel / LV boutiques. Fucking nuts tbh, queueing to spend thousands on a bag.

You see the same thing in London at Harrods etc. Queues of Chinese and Japanese people buying up all the luxury goods. Reason being, their countries have luxury goods taxes which mean that Louis bag they're buying will cost them maybe 20/30% more in their country.

saw an Allsaints staffer wearing it the other day, looked really nice; he however ruined it by having his trousers below his arse.

APCs arrived and they're gawjus. Fit is spot on, sized down 2 (30 to 28); if I'd gone any smaller I don't think I'd have got them past my hips... Looking forward to breaking these in.
