What about a velvet burgundy jacket? could that work or not?

popped onto the next website yesterday and by chance they were showing the burgundy jacket in my size in stockSo I immediately ordered it... I'm looking for some grey trousers to go with this... would they need to be chinos? or would smart grey trousers look fine with it? As in I don't want it to look like a mismatched suit.
I think trousers look better, perhaps similar to these? (I think a darker pair would look better)

I love those trousers, really can't buy anything right now though
Theres a few things that i don't think work so well about that outfit.
The trews don't look so fitted through the thigh which spoils the sleek look of a suit, also think they might be better in a darker black
the collar on the shirt looks too small and looks a wee bit tight on the neck
I think you have a build like me where your legs are short compared to the length of your torso so a more slender trouser worn a bit higher on the waist would have an elongating effect.

A little late now, but the trouser fit was my concern with the outfit. The slim collar on the shirt was intentional to go with the skinny tie. I hadn't really straightened it or ironed and starched the collar when I took this pic- that was done on the day.
They are slightly drop-crotch trousers, so not ideal for wearing with a smart outfit, but were a preferred option to chinos for this particular event. The trousers are more casual / smart-casual, but did the job, as I received numerous complements from people and was told I looked very dapper. I did wear the trousers higher on the day than in the pic though.
If anything I would have liked a lighter trouser, something like the ones posted above.
I always wear my trousers quite low; it's just part of my personal style, which is rooted in hip-hop / skater days of my youth.
Thanks for the (belated) input though
