Biker Jacket Help

My GF got me a really nice biker jacket a while ago and still havent worn it yet & shes starting to drop hints LOL - any idea how i can incorporate it into an outfit?
i was thinking about wearing it with tailored trousers & henley but unsure on shoes... its slim fitting & oiled black & i think calfskin so doesnt have that "washed vintage" look - can put pic's up later if it will help?

I'm sure there has been a couple of articles on this in the past 6 months or so. I think biker jacket with smart trousers is quite a tough one to pull off. Even if it is quite a smart jacket, I wouldn't overdo the shoes e.g. Brogues wouldn't work that well imo. Best to keep it smart-casual. How about a loafer? A pic would help though

I like biker jackets with smart trousers / chinos tbh.

Footwear is tough with this type of jacket though- I tend to go for a suede shoe to break up the textures. Plimsolls work but are very indie rock, which isn't my thing.

A getup I wore with my biker jacket before the weather got too hot for it was:

Black Biker Jacket
Light Grey Cable Knit Jumper
Taupe Skinny Chinos
Chocolate Brown Suede Desert Boots

I like to use my biker jacket to give a rugged edge to a softer look; I stick to lighter colours to contrast it against. I think if worn with darker hues, it looks a bit too rocky. Wearing it with a henley and loafers is a great shout but I would stick to brown shoes rather than black to break it up- controversial I know, but some rules are made to be broken. I think too much black leather can be a bit utilitarian. If you stick to brown, you create a distinct juxtaposition between the tailoring aspect and the ruggedness of the biker jacket. If the shoes are suede, this is further enhanced.

My outfit idea:

1.White tee
2. light blue casual shirt ( top 4 buttons, buttoned up.. the rest left)
3. leather jacket over it
4. Indigo/Dark blue skinny jeans: roll them up at the bottom about 2-4 inches.
5. Vans light blue

It's my favourite going out look. It works for me, try it

The obvious look is a plain white tee, slim indigo dark wash jeans and, (I'm with Pins on this one), desert boots.

It's a classic, timeless look, though not particuarly adventurous.

Like Pins, I think that if it's not ridiculously distressed, using a leather jacket to add a bit of attitude to a more clean, dare I say it tailored outfit. Maybe not tailored trousers, but definately chinos. Burgundy ones are always a winner with black.

Mine is an All Saints one so is very distressed tbh. I still think it looks wicked just chucked over a smart look; if done right, it can cancel out the effortful nature of a smart look, leaving the wearer with the desirable insouciant rebellious look.

mines not distressed at all - its like shiny new black leather, if it were distressed i think it would be easier to pair, but not convinced it would go with desert boots...

It's a nice jacket, but yeah, I don't think it will work with the looks suggested thus far.

I would probably just pair it with a crisp tee (like the one in the pic), skinny indigo jeans and either some white plimsolls, black leather shoes (boots are too ott I reckon) or some brown suede slipper-style loafers.

Any kind of funky slipper loafers would work too, I have these Viv ones which would be cool

Plain tee, skinny jeans, slim pointy shoes. That jacket is mint, it doesn't deserve to rot in the cupboard
