Grey Suit For Wedding, Can I Wear Tan Brogues?

Hi everyone, I've bought a tweed herringbone grey suit for a friend wedding, the closest I can find is this...

And I'm after some pointers on what shoes, shirt and tie to wear!

I was planning on buying some tan brogues, like Grenson or Trickers for instance. But would this look ok or odd? Most people reckon I should wear black shoes but I just don't like smart black shoes!

If the tan is fine, obvs I'm gonna be wearing a white shirt, but any suggestions? I nearly 6ft tall and weigh 78kg so I'm average weight so I'll be going for a slim fitted one.

And lastly, what colour skinny tie? I've got grey, tan and white so what's the advised tie colour?

I think purists would call for black shoes at a wedding. Depends what kind of wedding it is though, and if you want to stand out. I think the outfit sounds good. Quite country gent. Why not go with a knitted or woolen tie? That would work with that suit and those shoes. In terms of colours, something with red in it would look good. Don't go too garish though

Hey thanks for the reply! The wedding is in Nov, and it's in a public gardens in Sheffield(Botanical Gardens) then the evening will be in the Millenium galleries, which is a cool arty space which is all white and very modern with glass everywhere, not really traditional wedding at all! I'm aldo DJing the evening for them too!
I do like the idea of a knitted woolen tie and maybe pocket square, can you recommend any?!

I think tan brogues would be great. I hate boring, traditional wedding attire. You're already being a bit different with the tweed, might as well go all out.

As for the rest of the outfit, keep it simple and keep it heritage. A slim white shirt would work fine. I'd personally wear a burgundy knitted tie with that shade of grey. I have a nice one from next: Buy Navy Knitted Tie from the Next UK online shop

As for pocket square, a burgundy one with off-white polka dots would compliment the look without being too matchy. This sort of thing:

Yeah agree with this. Burgundy would work very well. You want the tie and pocket square to complement, but not match, as such.

Hey thanks for the replies, and thanks for the advice. Both those items are very nice and I'' definite consider that for sure! I was actually looking maybe a navy tie with a polka dot square as David Beckham does this quite a lot with his grey suits and I think he wears suits very well :-)

Do you have an image of the shoes you plan on wearing? I checked out the suit and I think maybe a pair of dark brown shoes might be a good choice.

I think a knitted tie is a good shout. As you're from Sheff, you could try popping into Freshmans (Vintage) on Carver street. I've picked up some nice ties and pocket squares from there in the past.
