To start off I'm 5'8 and fairly skinny

Recently I have been thinking about what style would suit me best and the type of clothes that I should be buying, and I was wondering on what you guys think?

It's an impossible question to answer without having any idea of what style of clothing you usually like to wear or aspire to wear. Nobody can tell you what type of clothes you should be buying. Take a look around this site and others, especially at the lookbooks and find things you like and copy them to start with.
