    I don't think I would wear them and I'm not quite sure I can pull them off, but I really want a pair of plaid trousers right now.

    The closest thing I found were these shorts:

    I have some Reiss waxed jeans, they are wicked but seldom worn

    No, but it doesn't sound like a bad idea now you mention it. Have you tried it yourself, or know somebody who has? I'd want to be fairly sure of a good result!
