Polishing Brown Brogues With Black Polish?

Thanks, Only 2 coats of black over the toe, with 5 minutes in between... have done another black and will leave till I get back from work tomorrow... I only did 1 coat of brown

I have some tan brogues that I rarely wear because they are quite a bright organge. You have inspired me at having a go at making them darker.

I used Kiwi polish, the brown tin says 'dark tan, maroon, rouge' and the other was black
