Tux With Waistcoat?
Hi,
I'd be very grateful for advice on the tux with waistcoat look (e.g. Knightly Black Single Breasted Peak Tux - REISS)
I think it looks good with the standard tie but not sure how it would look with a bow-tie.

I think it's bordering on fusty history professor territory (although I've no doubt a fusty history professor would wear a hideously oversized, hired tux) stick with a tie.

I don't like it.
Waistcoats can look excellent with dinner jackets but they need to be the low fronted variety. Dermot O'Leary looked great in one at the GQ awards recently.
Personally, I don't care for the four-in-hand long tie with a dinner suit either. Black tie should be something a bit special; long ties and conventionally cut waistcoats are just like everyday business wear and defeat the object.

I think this you need a scoop fronted waistcoat for evening wear. Like this:
