Finding A Casual Blazer/Jacket

I'm new to this forum; so hello everybody!

Anyhow, I'm on the hunt for a casual blazer/jacket for layering up with the likes of a denim jacket etc. In particular an alternative to the Chancery Jacket by AllSaints. It's a little out of my budget and not in my size. It doesn't have to be double breasted.

I've seen this one on Zara. I'm not sure how it's velvet finish will fit into an everyday smart/casual outfit though, but I do love the contrast detailing under the collar. That one would be a steal, just not sure about that velvet finish...

What do you guys think to that number from Zara and do you know of any others that might fit the bill?

I like the Zara one but I'm personally an advocate of velvet as a evening piece only.

For just mooching around in the day, and especially in this blazer, a wool blazer in a neutral colour would be more appropriate.

As long as you're not that tall (they're rather short cut), ASOS is a good shout for casual blazers.

If you want to be "On trend", knitted blazers are a nice contemporary twist on the casual blazer:

I was looking at the other blazers from Zara, it's a shame that only the larger sizes are left because for the price I think that their construction is great. I particularly like the contrast detailing that they have under the collars. I think I'll wait until their new lines come out and check out what turns up.
