Black Boots / Blue Jeans *URGENT QUANDARY*

I am today wearing indigo jeans with black boots

These boots:


Am I in the wrong? It looks good to me...

They are kind of grey/black though, and they have a brown accent in the laces.

Please assist me with this urgent quandary

I have some All Saints military boots in washed black and I generally wear them with dark indigo denim. In my opinion I think a smart black shoe like a brogue with denim would look awful, but a more casual worker/military/hiking type boot in black work great with dark blue denim. I think it has a lot to do with the colour tones and style, some work, some don't.

Yeah, I gave it some thought and concluded the same.

Smart black shoes with jeans = no
Casual black shoes with jeans = yes

I think black works as long as it's not too formal. I have black millitary boots that I think look good, and I also have some smart style shoes that are a kind of black/grey fade that also work with dark indigo jeans. They certainly weren't designed to wear as smart shoes.
