What Colour Tie With A Green Shirt?

What colour tie would work with a green shirt? Any help much appreciated.

What shade of green?

Navy would be my first pick. I often wear a green gingham shirt with a navy tie. It looks particularly awesome with a navy suit.

Yeah, navy should work an absolute treat.

Navy's a good failsafe; it's all I've really found to work with pink shirts too.
A significantly darker green might also potentially work, but this would depend on the surrounding pieces I think.

Green shirt? Colour theory dictates a red tie. I understand if you don't want to give yule time greetings, though. However, wait, I still have an idea, perhaps you could pull a Brazilian flag? Green does go with yellow and blue, here is why:

Green compliments Green

Green = Green

Blue + Yellow = Green

Blue + Yellow compliments Green.

Perhaps you could wear a dark navy suit with yellow tie with some paisley detailing? Hope this helps a little :-)
