Over a year ago I got a satchel for my birthday from the Cambridge Satchel Company, given it's a bit effeminate (I've run into more girls with them than guys...) I do think it's smart looking and versatile. I opted for this one: Cambridge Satchel Company | The Cambridge Satchel Company 15" Leather Satchel at ASOS
Not cheap in any sense of the word but great quality.
