Hey Toe Bag,
Sounds like you have a great job! When I travel I often wear my white shirt and trousers with a really good fitting, cashmere jumper with a knitted tie. The jumper is a 'Dennis the Menace' black and red stripe (doesn't look very 'Menace' due to its cut and the hue is different), and the tie is a deep red. This look has a formality however due to its colour and lack of any suit, it looks very relaxed. I also often accessorize with some shades and always replace my brogues for the more 'off duty', Chelsea boot.
Another idea is just wearing any blazer/suit jacket with a collarless t-shirt or denim shirt over some chinos, is the ultimate casual business man look.
