I'm new to this forum, hello!

I'm 17 and going to a very prestigious law firm in the City next week for a meeting, the dress code is smart casual. I've read many formal wear tips and such, but would like some more tips in regards to the colours, what to wear, any no nos, etc, to do with smart casual. I don't want to go too formal but definitely not too casual.
