I think it depends how thick the belt is, and whether your shirt is tucked in. An oxford shirt, tucked in, with a slim belt wouldn't look cowboy at all.

But I can see your point Jay. Double denim is a hard look to pull off.

I think oxford shirts - or shirts in general - should be avoided with double denim. Jersey stuff like, tees and henleys, works better, I find.

You're quite right though; a simple t-shirt is more than enough.

You could try this :
Combination 1 : white v-neck tees, maroon red skinny pants and dark brown boots.
Combination 2 : white round or crew neck t-shirt, slim beige pants and maroon red loafers.
