Elbow patches
I have a navy ted baker blazer (100% cotton) and I would very much like to put brown elbow patches on it.
I was wondering is easily done or would it potentially ruin the blazer? Also where would I come by a good set of elbow patches?
Thanks.

If its something youve bought recently I wouldnt and is fairly new I wouldnt risk doing something myself and would be best going to a tailor to get it done. If its old and your not bothered about it getting damaged then you could have a go yourself but chances are unless youve done something like this before it wont last very long.

It is pretty easy to do:
How to Sew on Elbow Patches | eHow.com
Or if you are worried about doing it yourself I'm sure it would only cost a couple of pay someone to do it?
I have bought patches on eBay, thy also sell them in places like hobbycraft. Or you can make your own by buying some scraps of material, for example something in a charity shop?

It is relatively new so I think I will go to my local tailors to avoid messing up.
Is suede or leather the best option?
eBay seems to have an ok selection of both.

In terms of practicality, leather has to be better, but aesthetically it's down to personal taste.

I prefer the look of suede myself but it doesnt wear very well.
