The "What Should I Wear With This?" Thread

Hi guys. I received a black, short-sleeved polo shirt for Christmas. I'm trying to figure out what to wear with it, and if I can even wear it at all during the winter. Maybe I can throw a burgundy pullover on over it, with some blue jeans and brogue boots? That outfit without the black polo is one of my favorites, but I've never really tried layering a short-sleeve shirt before other than a T shirt. I guess the principles aren't that different.

Hey guys.
I had Topman (or rather high street) vouchers laying around and decided to put them to use this afternoon on a blazer in the sale.

It's pretty sweet for Topman, as usually they're materials are less than desirable.

Anyway this bad boy is 100% wool and down to £75 from £150 but I got it for £25 cash what with having the vouchers.



I'm normally ok pairing stuff up but am a bit stumped now I've got this home.
For a start, it's a 4 buttoner...! What's the general rule with 4 buttons?!!

Also, what do you guys think this could be worn with and do you think it could slot into a formal work (shirt and tie) every day setting?
I'm pretty sure it can, just need some inspiration really!

I like the 4 buttons, but I think that feature makes it hard to slot into proper formal wear.

However, it's a great piece for the evening and at that price, can't complain.

I'd personally pair it with a white t-shirt and a dark navy polka dot silk scarf, tucked under the blazer. For the bottom half, stick with jeans or stone/grey chinos and a good pair of tan leather shoes.

I got this coat about 8 years ago. Its a very nice coat from brooks brothers. I'm wondering if its worth getting it taken in a bit and trying to wear it. My question is, is there any way this could look cool, or do I just need to hang it up in the closet forever?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to what I can pair up with this burgundy shirt from H&M I got the other day. I`m looking to use it as a casual/university item. I am a big fan of scarfs, so what do you reckon would be a suitable scarf color to combine with?

Had my eye on this Peter Werth brown fleck suit, and it got massively reduced from £320 to £160 then £98 this weekend! Picked it up an it came today.. the jacket fits perfectly, and I've taken the trousers to get tapered. Sorted.



Now its just the shoes.. I was originally thinking some tan brogues, but now I'm not sure. My other shoes are a closer colour to the suit colour, but I think they "cheapen" the look of the outfit.

I can post shoe pics tomorrow if that helps?

I reckon tan shoes would be fine, or black ones should work. I'd steer clear of anything too close to the suit colour.

Agreed! I'll try with the tan shoes for now (once I get the trousers back) then reassess I think. Pics will definitely help

I'm looking around for another pair of boot. I saw these at a really low price on H by Hudson, am I right in thinking that they're too light to ever work with black skinny jeans?
