I think that sartorial rules don't always apply in casual dress. If it looks good, it looks good.
For formal dress, the blazer should be done up when standing, undone when seated. No question there.
To be honest Jay, I still think you're wrong in this instance. Double breasted blazers look awful undone, agreed. This double breasted jacket on the other hand looks perfectly fine, so other than people scoffing because the 'rules' say it should be done up, there isn't any problem.
I may be wrong, but meh. I like it and that's the main thing for me.

Oh, I agree that single breasted blazers can look great unbuttoned for casual dress (although personally I still do tend to button up most of the time). I shall never be swayed on the double-breasted in any situation (unless you're wearing one and suddenly need open heart surgery)
Search on google images for double breasted blazer. There's a reason why almost every single photo (formal or casual) has the blazer buttoned; it looks better.
But yaknow, each to their own, and I'm certainly not going to lose sleep over someone else's decision to unbutton as I'm sure no one will over my criticism of the unbuttoned approach.
See up until having this blazer I would agree Jay, but it really is a case where you have to try it to fully understand.
Interestingly, Kenzo's spring 2012 collection saw unbuttoned DB's, and whilst they don't look appalling, I do think they look pretty poor.

To be honest, I think those Kenzo double-breasted blazers look pretty naff even when done up (although I like some of the colouring)! They're a bit 'boxy' looking for my taste. I might have to invest in a salmon pink blazer this SS.
I agree, they're awful.
I've considered a pink blazer, but I'm not sure it's a worthy enough investment for me...
Just came to the shocking realisation that I don't own a decent pair of jeans.
Popped to Topman and got some dark washy skinny ones. They're lovely, snug and youthful without looking skin tight and the dark wash makes them look more dressy and appropriate for blazer and brogues outfits.
