Whether its a night out with the lads, a meal with the girlfriend/wife/boyfriend, a date, or just a couple of beers in the pub....we all know that day wear and night wear are two completely different things, so get some pics up of you just before your big night out, as I know a whole host of blokes get this completely wrong when attempting to "smarten up" for the night!

Hopefully every weekend this thread can be teaming with some ideas for us all on what looks good when you hit the tiles!

Taking my fiance out for a meal tomorrow night and was dead set on tweed jacket, burgundy chino's, sky blue shirt , knitted burgundy tie and brogues but it is gonna be 26 degrees.

Just wanted to say Ben: that outfit sounds superb and is similar to one I have been rocking very recently.

As for now we cannot let you store them on the server due to it taking up so much space.

Strangely, I was going to wear my brogue boots, burgandy chinos and tweed jacket and a raw edge v-neck tee from All Saints tonight to my work's party, but the weather is putting me off. Probably go with the chino's, add my slim brown boat shoes, but have no idea what to wear on top....

I was dead set on revolving my outfit around a blazer I haven't worn yet, but like you say it's a bit toasty for that. Now it'll revolve around whatever isn't in a crumpled heap on the floor...

I would just go for a simple shirt with some awesome looking gray, black or brown leather jacket, and a cool pair of jeans.

I'm stuck. going to a gig this evening (Maximo Park) and not sure what to wear.

navy Cords, with light blue oxford shirt, heavy knit brown cardigan and worker boots (don't want to mess the suede desert boots up with people stamping on my feet and with added beer stains !!)

or....indigo jeans, blue gingham shirt and burgundy v-neck and boots and peacoat. Might be a bit warm inside for peacoat with nowhere to store it ?

Great thread. I would like to broaden it out slightly to cover a question I often wrestle with myself:

Do you have certain clothes that you only keep for best / evening wear and do not wear during the day?

Do you segment your wardrobe as rigidly as that? Or do you mix it up (i.e. have a smart item you wear to go out but dress down during the day?)

I have a few blazers (tweed, herringbone etc.) that I bought for going out but my wife keeps telling me to get some wear out of them during the day!

On the one side I think I should get some wear and then on the other I think I should be keeping them for what I intended (i.e. evening wear or good occassions).
