I personally find black shoes with black upper just looks better. But then I contradict myself by saying I don't mind black jeans with brown shoes sometimes.
Just wanted to know peoples opinions on casual and work out fits with this combination. Bit strapped for cash to fork out for new jackets to replace my pea-coat and Harrington, which are both black.
Is brown shoes with a black jacket a major no no? Also the same question to navy suit, brown shoes and black peacoat?
I know the major rule is no black trousers or belts with brown shoes, but what about the rest of the outfit? I have a lot of black in my wardrobe
Thanks for any guidance.

It's fine!!
I wear my black pea coat with brown brogue boots, skinny indigo jeans and a brown belt. No one has ever remarked that the colours don't go (my female flatmates do have a habit of letting me know when I slip up).
However, I would veer away from wearing black, brown and navy in a formal outfit. If your strapped for cash there's a rather lovely camel trench coat in H and M now at the moment for only about 60 something quid. Would look great with a navy suit.
