Drivers/Moccasins for casual wear

Recently I was a little disappointed to discover that a majority opinion on Driving Loafers seems to be that if you aren't driving with them, don't buy them, as from the little I've read they are very uncomfortable and poor for wearing as a casual everyday shoe. I thought I'd ask here, do people agree with this?

(Apologies that image isn't placed in thread). Will these shoes present the same problem, I thought the sole seemed a little different from regular drivers?

Any help would be much appreciated =]

I'm not a fan, I don't like the shape or the look in general. It just doesn't look right to my eyes. You can get loafers that are very similar (I own a pair) but they have a more solid sole. I think it's the sole that does it for me.

im a fan of drivers, but as summer shoes when the weather is good - i think they look nice in brighter colours with rolled light coloured chinos. i wouldnt pay £300+ on a pair though.
