I have a 1920s themed ball coming up. Seem as the dress code isn't black tie, I'd like to wear a navy suit. I have a lovely, classic number from calvin klein which fits like a dream but am unsure how to really stand out.
Any suggestions for ties, pocket squares, scarves, or other accessories?
How about a hat? Trilby to fit in with the 20's theme.
Burgundy's always a winner with navy but kinda standard, maybe a forest green tie? Or orange? I'm liking the idea of trilby/fedora to add some vintage charm though.
I quite like the idea of a grey fedora with a navy suit. Could anyone recomend a decent brand/piece?
As for accessories, I have a burgundy polka dot scarf from Reiss which would look great but would restrict me as far as ties and pocket squares are concerned.
Hmm...white shirt, mid-blue tie, white/cream pocket square, the burgundy scarf and a fedora?

Don't over-do the accessories.
Choose a tie, match a pocket square, and finish the look off with a 1920's style collar pin. That's all you need. Let the suit speak for itself.
Wear a navy or grey waistcoat with ur suit wear a pocket watch with it.
Torn between BlackSheeps and Ben's recomendations. At the end of the day, the girl I'm trying to impress doesn't have a clue about fashion.
Although, looking at Reiss' lookbooks, I am rather keen on collar pins atm.
I'd probably go for a burgundy tie and try and find a pocket in maybe cyan and burgundy (paisley might work). Other then that I think a collar pin/bar would be more suited that a waist coat. The introduction of metal at the neck would make me leave the tie bar at home as well as it would be an overload.
But then I can be quite boring in my dress sometimes.
