Turning up jeans
So is turning up jeans still the way forward or is it better to get a pair that are the right length to sit midway down your heel? I've not got any jeans I turn up so is it just a case of getting a slightly longer pair than normal and turning them up? #newbie
Do whatever you want mate... Skinny jeans with a turn up and a bit of sock exposed is still a cool look imo
It's all up to personal preference! I normally opt for jeans that sit at the right length but if you think it's cool to get a slightly longer pair and turn them up, then go for it. You can't go wrong either way.
It depends what sort of aesthetic you're going for. Part of the attraction of turnups for some is that they actually expose sock or ankle. In other words, they make the jeans look too short, although that's a very unflattering way of putting it. It's actually a very cool look in my view, but one that my dear mum still picks me up on everytime I leave the house sporting such a look.
The trick is make sure the jeans are rather slim, if not skinny.
I do a bit of both. For some reason, almost no shops in Sweden stock W32L30 which is my size, so I usually have to take my jeans to the tailor or turn them up. What I do depends a bit on wash, colour and how I plan to wear them.
But if I should try to formulate some kind of rule I go by, I'd say skinny/slim fit jeans I turn up. Regular or wider fit jeans, I don't turn up.
I think it looks good and do it myself on nearly all my jeans but it should ONLY be done with skinny or slim jeans.
Turning up a pair of straight leg or wider jeans will look rediculous.
Make sure you have some cool "sock porn" on too - stripes, bold colours etc.
