@MCPHEE I've been to the Bullring Selfridges too and found myself wandering into the Primark section more than once. You're spot on about the displays. I'm thinking of trying out Zara too, particularly their shirt/trouser collection.

First Zara I went to was in Basingstoke, and their display and layout was fantastic. In fact I couldn't believe how reasonable the prices were on some items considering it looked so upmarket, plus the staff were great too. It's amazing how variable things can be between stores at different locations.
I second/third/fourth the Zara comments. Their summer/spring collection is amazing. I've been doing a bit of shopping myself recently, also raided my local TK Maxx which was nice.
Here are the shorts which I will be wearing this summer, couldn't be more happy with them

I finally got my footwear for the summer

Picked up a Ralph Lauren check shirt for £35 from TK Maxx, similar colours to this one but blue, yellow, red

I'd been wanting a plan, classic looking dark green polo for the summer and found this one in Zara. Such a great fit.

Also been looking for an unstructured blazer and found there archetypal All Saints one in TK Maxx for only £35 pound. I can't find the actual picture right now but it'll be great for pairing with shorts and layering.
I also picked up some basic tees and henleys in various colours. I'd been looking for a nice bright orange t-shirt and burgundy dress shirt for awhile. Unfortunately the other item on my list, a printed shirt from Topman was sold out online. Still searching for another one I like, may have to give the printed shirt a miss this year if I can't find a nice fitted one. I am off to Cyprus tomorrow and can't wait to experiment with my summer wardrobe. Happy Easter everyone!
I went into Hanley today for the first time and picked up some dark brown brogues in the Topman sale for £20.
Also picked up a plain green jumper at the same time - also in the sale. No pics sorry guys.
Then was dragged into Primark by my sister :( - however the frown was soon turned upside down (ha) when I came out with a pair of tan brogues (slim profile ones) for £15, suede look dark blue dessert boots for £15 and 2 pairs of coloured slim jeans (sage and burgundy) for £11 each!
Now don't get me wrong - the quality of these items isn't great close up. But I never wear tan shoes for work and would like some to wear like once a week to change it up. And these bad boys are enough to pay for that. They look great too!
Really pleased with the slim fit jeans too. The colours are great and they fit perfectly. Bit long in the leg as not had my exact leg size but it just means a roll up which adds to the overall finish imo.
So for someone who previously hated Primark, I now think it's ok! If you have time to filter through the utter rubbish to find the small amount of ok stuff!
Picked up a crew neck All Saints Tonic T-shirt yesterday in TK Maxx Basingstoke £9.99 couldn't believe it. Loads of all saints stock down there if anyone's local
I'm on a bit of a spree at the moment:

I picked up an All Saints Reims Crew in Tk maxx yesterday too (Maidstone). There was nothing All Saints there really. I saw last seasons version of the L'Orient Jacket for £70 (sizes 36, 40 and 44) and a Manzarek Pea Coat (really cheap: £35!) and the latter sold whilst I was there. Clearly the All Saints stock they get sells extremely quickly.
I also picked up a Farah S/S Shirt (pastel pink with blue and white stripes. It's awesome) which was £17 like the Crew.
I wish I had a TK Maxx near me that sold a plethora of All Saints gear. Some of the prices are brilliant.
I'm wary of my TK Max, although it does stock alot of Allsaints.
My problem is I end up buying something just because its Allsaints. This is fine when its £20 off eBay, but stuff in TK Max can still cost a fair amount.
That's true. I thought £70 for the jacket I mentioned was quite a lot, not due to the quality, but because it sold for a similar amount in All Saints' summer sale.
You should document any signature pieces you see there, and list them on the forum. I'm sure some of us might be willing to buy them!
Was planning to get these H&M shoes in beige, but there weren't any in store (and there's only size 10 online now, so unfortunately I can't just order them now I know the size I need). Decided I liked them in dark blue enough that I bought just off-white slim chinos and a similarly dark blue shirt with roll sleeves, double pockets and shoulder tabs to wear with them. I might get some white / off-white shorts come summer.
