Manbags: Not a Girly Thread or About Moobs

When I think about it, the one fashion/style item I have with me more than any other is my brown leather satchel. I absolutely love it. It's battered and lends a classic sophistication and geek chic to any outfit and I would be lost without it for work, for out and about, for nipping to the shop, for those cold nights alone... (OK perhaps a step too far). And the more scuffed, worn and battered it gets, the more amazing it looks.

I've got a black leather Reiss Shopper for smart use / travel, a black fabric/leather Diesel satchel/shopper hybrid for trashing, a Boxfresh army style backpack for biking/festivals/sports, an Adidas Originals gym bag, a Louis Vuitton satchel that never gets used lol, and a massive black leather Luke weekend bag.

I loathe the expression 'man bag' its loaded with negative connotations. I occasionly use a messenger bag and even that gets stick from 'lad' friends. Its a shame as I love some of the bags coming out of late but I dont want the effeminate connotations with them. When I was in Italy for a while (fashion center of the world!) 'man-bags' were everywhere and the guys looked great. With luck people's perception of the bags will change, like what people said about skinny jeans 6-8 years ago.

If you have the balls to wear them than hats off to you because they are pretty chic.

lol I don't worry about what my idiot friends think, I carry my black leather shopper like a handbag and it looks very masculine.

I'm pretty confident in myself though so yeah.

I've had a messenger bag for a while now and I recently got myself a Cotton holdall from French Connection - cost me £40 and I've already had multiple compliments on it, clearly from chaps in the know and I absolutely love it.

I use an incredibly un-stylish Jansport rucksack to carry my books and student-esk crap.

I have a white leather satchel which is also horrid.
Annoyingly whenever I have money to buy a decent 'bag' I end up finding an item of clothing I like better.

I have the ben sherman canvas tote bag... i love it... generally used with the shoulder strap as the mrs hates me carrying it with the handles lol but i need more bags im defo pro manbag Muhahaha
