Men's Tattoos - Opinions

One thing I cannot stand is the basic tribal tattoo. I like intricate Maori patterns but the spikey thick lines that people seem to get over their shoulder and bicep are hideous. Sorry if any of you are unfortunate enough to have one of these, but they are inexcusable. I also can't stand people with no creativity or artistic ability designing really bad tattoos for themselves. If you're not good at design then leave it to someone who is. Apart from these two peeves of mine I am a big fan of ink, I think if it's done right it can be a great way of expressing yourself.

I'm personally dying to get a half sleeve done on my upper arm. No idea what the design will be, probably something more to the feminine,arty end of the spectrum as opposed to some vile trible thing.
Problem is I'm still 18 and I know my mother will actually decapitate me. And seems as I might need her to bail me out finacially when the job offers at Uni dont come, that doesn't sound like a plan.

i got myself tattooed because my girlfriend wanted me to get a tattoo. She wanted me tattoo a little heart on my arm.
