You know when you go swimming in the sea, come out and dry off and your hair feels a bit rougher and textured? That's the effect. It gives you some control (don't know what it's like on dry hair, I use it towel dry) and volume, as well as the texture. It can be like surfer hair, or you can do what Jay and I do, and style a quiff with it. It's quite versatile.

Exactly this. Very occasionally if I'm feeling lazy, my hair is still looking good the next day and I can't be bothered washing it, I do spray it on to dry hair and it just gives it a bit of body (I don't want to put more heavy product in at this point or it ends up feeling greasy) and a little more hold and shape. Then a quick spritz of the d:fi spray when dry and good to go.

My hair is getting quite long on top, and it's taken me forever to find something that actually holds and that am actually pleased with. I use Trikovedic Fibre Paste which my hairdresser recently got me on to. It smells amazing, and I only have to use a tiny amount which is an added bonus. I usually add it to damp hair, blow dry straight up, followed by a whole lot of barrell brushing and combing, then Extra Hold Schwartzkopt Hair Spray (one of the only hair sprays I've tried that isn't too sticky/leave an awful film).

I'm tempted to find a J Crew stockist somewhere near me though based on all the good things I've been reading lately.

Can I grab some advice from you guys? I'm not sure what to use in my hair, as my V05 funkyshaper just doesn't cut it, the hold barely lasts. I want some upward hold, but for my hair to not look shiny or wet, I'd prefer it to look more matte, and not to feel crusty, if you get me. Any advice? Thanks!

Thanks for the advice, it's much needed, I used to have a long fringe, but now it's slightly shorter, so I push it up and across with my hand, but yeah, I shall try it. Can you get it in stores, or is it mainly online only?

I'm just waiting for my Sculptor to arrive. I've been using American Fiber for a while now and was just going to buy the Moulder, because it is a similar style, apparently, but I've had a change of heart and thought something with a very slight shine that can handle my thick hair might be more appropriate.
Will have to wait and see.....

My hair gets oily pretty quickly so I have to constantly wash it. I was using the Redken mint shampoo and conditioner but after about six months, it doesn't feel like it properly cleans my hair anymore. Anyone got any suggestions for a really good shampoo and conditioner that doesn't have harsh chemicals in it that smells good?
