Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come.
Just witnessed Brian May guesting on Dappy's new song.
I'm not going to post a vid. Jesus wept.
I'm sorry, but I can't agree on the Lana Del Rey thing. Yes, she is UNBELIEVABLY hot. But she is just going to be another Adele and outstay her welcome in the charts. I don't even like her voice that much, it's too monotonous.
But that's just my opinion, ahh.
Erm, anyone like A Day To Remember? TRC? Four Year Strong? Machine Head? Young Guns? Iron Maiden?
I just find Lana far more interesting than Adele or the like; her lyrics are better, her voice is unique, and her songs are better crafted.
I say songs; I mean song. Video Games is the only one I've heard that I really like. And not the original version; the one she did on Jools Holland. But that one sends chills down the back of my spine.
I saw her on Jools also which was awesome. I'd say this Lana Del Rey Performing 'Video Games' live at Corinthia Hotel London is probably the best version I've heard so far. Most of her album is decent, some tracks are as good, if not better than Video Games. Lana's lyrics are way better than Adele's drivel, plus she sounds like she means every word.
I'm not comparing Adele and Lana in terms of voice or talent, just that she will appear and float around for way too long.
I've only really heard Blue Jeans, which was alright, and Born to Die, which I didn't really like that much. That's a stunning version too; I think I prefer the vocal on the Jools version a little bit more, but the sound of that Corinthia recording and the stripped back arrangement is amazing.
Got a bit of a folk vibe going on at the moment.
Tallest Man on Earth
Ben Marwood
Emmy the great
Johnny Flynn
And lots of The Smiths as usual.
Yeah haha I used to be a bit of a metalhead. I've mellowed out alot now, and if I listen to heavy stuff it tends to be quite raw British hardcore like Heart In Hand or While She Sleeps.
Don't really like ADTR, but Four Year Strong are great fun and Machine Head's The Blackening is pretty timeless stuff. Although I'm on the indie, pop and folk at the moment, I still crack out the metal from time to time.
Aha, yeah. I went to see Young Guns, Tonight Alive and Polar last night. Not so heavy, but amazing live. I do like a bit of While She Sleeps. The Blackening, brilliant album. That tour was the first time I crowdsurfed, aha!
