Decorating My Bedroom. HELP.

I've just got back from Uni and for the first time am faced with the prospect of decorating my bedroom. All the furniture's gone and I'm drowning in books, so it's time for a fresh start.

Unfortunately, I've also found myself single which means I'm clueless on what sort of look to go for. I'm drawn towards something vintage, something slightly quirky but most of all, something relatively grown up. I would like it to reflect my interests, namely music, literature, art and of course fashion.

So, I was wondering what sort of things you guys have done with your rooms? Where do you buy your furniture? Am I, most likely, just being ever so slightly homosexual (and that is definately not meant in a derrogatory sense) and overthinking things?

My room looks like it belongs to a 14 year old but I'm moving out soon so I guess it's ok to have it like that. The best thing to do would be to search for bedrooms on pinterest or look in some interior design magazines. I really like Apartment Therapy | Saving the world, one room at a time as well, some good ideas circulating on there.

my room was being turned into the guest room before I even left for University, the wardrobe is completely full of my Mum's clothes now, think yourself lucky to have a room at home!

I'm not good at decorating, I just keep things magnolia and go a bit OCD over tidiness.

You sound like my Dad, he's just painted my room that exact colour and has a nervous breakdown whenever there's a sock left on the wooden flooring.

Personally, besides a few pics of mates/ people who inspire you I think a picture of a cityscape, volcano or a breathtaking mountain range gives a room more life.
