Is it possible to upload an image from your file rather than an image hosting website? Think this would would make the site a lot more user friendly. Or is there a way to already do this?

Hi Pete,
Unfortunately if we allowed this option then our server/storage costs would spiral out of control very quickly. In the future there will be a paid version of the forum available - this will open up many more features on here for those users, including file storage and photo albums. We will keep this cost as low as possible in order to simply break even. If I find another way around the issue before then, of course we will implement it for free for everyone.
For now, in order to keep it running for free along with our main site, we will have to use external links.
There are plenty of free file hosting sites out there though, which you can use to store specific photos you might want to share. Tomorrow I will get a list together and post them in this thread.
Thanks,
Ben
Two good options for uploading images would be CloudApp (best for Mac users) or Dropbox (Windows, Mac, Linux etc.). Both allow you to upload files without having to go to a specific website to upload them and tend to be a lot more reliable than image hosting sites.
CloudApp I think you just drag the image to the top bar on your Mac, it will then upload it and copy the link to your clipboard.
Dropbox if you put the file in the 'Public' folder that is created automatically, you can then right click the image and go to Dropbox > Copy Public Link.
Hopefully that will help someone.
Thank you JMZ. There are a lot of good options out there if you want to be able to share files on the forums quickly and easily. If I can find a way of hacking the forum back-end so we can store all images on a cheaper content delivery network I will, and then it will be made an option that is free for all.
