    Need some black shoes...

Hey guys. Long time reader, first time poster.

Anyways, I work a job at a supermarket and I need some new shoes. The really only thing they need to be is all black. Hell, they could even be trainers. Anyways, I want the shoes to also go well with my casual outfit which usually consists of skinny jeans of many colors.

    Any suggestions?

    How about some black vans?

They will be more than adequate for supermarket work and also be prefect for a causal outfit, especially with jeans!

I was hoping for something a bit more 'mature' that can work well with my casual outfit, but black Vans seem like a good idea and I'll probably settle for them if nothing else that tickles my fancy comes up. Thanks for posting.

Vans are very flat, so walking and standing in them all day might actually damage your feet.

Black desert boots is a better option in my opinion. But don't rule out a derby or oxford. They do come in all styles and also work for casual outfits - I often wear simple black oxfords to jeans and t-shirt/sweater.

One more thing though, get two pairs of work shoes. If you wear them all day, you'll need to let them rest and dry out for at least 24 hours. Unless you want shoes that smell like an old gym bag after just a couple of weeks. Shoes need rotation.

A few examples, that I think work as (fairly) casual work shoes:

Though you may want to check out shoes with softer soles. I work in an office, and sit all day, but all my friends who work on store floors tend to go on and on about the importance of the right soles.
