Yes I think you are right. The chunky 'air ware' sole is a constant. Personally I think it can work quite well. I like the two tone (corespondent almost?) upper. I have plenty of non chunky soled shoes, so it wouldn't be limiting myself too much. The reason I posted originally was because i found a pair of the brogue ones on sale for £50 in my size, whereas they are normally over £100! Having said this i am also skint, and should stop buying shoes!
That's a steal for £50. If the sole ever annoys you then you can always get it completely re-soled (although this can be costly).
Sounds a good buy. I don't dislike the soles either, they look good with a large turn up.
