What's 'not to get' about jeans and trainers? NB do seem more of an american brand though, but they do have a made in UK line which I can't see a problem with if you want trainers and want to buy British.
Why not, because they have a function? What about Skateboarding shoes (ie Vans)? Naval coats, hiking boots, people wearing waxed jackets in the middle of a dry city, sunglasses indoors/when it isn't sunny? Camouflage in an urban environment? What about plimsolls, they're for doing PE. Most white trainsers are probably really tennis shoes. None of them are fashion items, they've all been designed with something specific in mind other than simply looking good. It's all just latching onto different groups and IMO that defines fashion to me, people wearing stuff that's no genuine earthly use to them other than for showing off or associating with a group they perceive to be cool.
Good point Tom. I think trainers and jeans is a great look, however I think these New Balance ones are a bit chavvy, and certainly not a look that will be around for long. I think an investment in a pair of good quality white leather/canvas trainers would pay off better, and look ten times more appealing.
Just my 2p
i like them, i think the coloured suede ones look pretty cool in a casual ensemble. At the end of the day, everyones taste is different.
I like NB, I see them more in kilter with a kind of work wear style rather than any of this Essex nonsense, although i do agree about them probably being a trend, which has already peaked.
picked up these at the weekend, im off to Rome in 3 weeks and they will be great for walking round the city in. i have a nice pair of light stone chinos which they look really nice with.
For £50 im pretty chuffed.

I love NB! (I only wear them to the gym as I don't really like wearing trainers for anything else), definitely way cooler than the chavy Nike Air Max I see everyone wearing, even the so-called homeless round here and wearing them!
You Must Create
if you're gonna buy new balance, at least buy the made in the uk ones. the "fashion" ones that are made in taiwan or china are horrible and look cheap, which is a shame because it's always been a great brand and not cheap and chavvy looking like nikes , or even worse, addidas
also, whoever said that pairing white trainers with jeans is an idiot. that's a sure fire way to mark yourself out as a chav
