Stylish running shoes
I'm thinking of going travelling for a bit as I've never been away longer than 2 weeks and I'm not getting any younger. When I go away for even 2 weeks I get fed up with all the crap I carry plus I miss exercising. To keep my luggage to a minimum I was thinking of a pair of vintage running shoes that double up as trainers I wear with jeans.
Any recommendations or should I pack a pair of converse as well.
Yes there are definitely running trainers that will double up as an everyday shoes. However I would still pack a pair of converse, as the running shoes can just as quickly not double up when damaged or sweaty for example.
Below is a lovely pair of running shoes which would definitely work as an everyday shoe IMO.
Check out the Nike Flyknit trainers, I really love the chukka's too!! :)
Check out Nike and New Balance for some everyday/running trainers. Mr Porter have a particularly good selection with stylized photos to show how they work with casual outfits.
Wearing the same pair of shoes for exercising and then everyday use for more than a few days is going to end up in them smelling awful and not looking too great either. Think a good pair of Nikes that can double up with jeans when necessary is a good choice, depending on how you dress, something along the lines of Pegasus/Airs/Flyknits/Safaris etc. then casual trainer of choice, in your case Converse, for more general use. Whichever pair is in your bag shouldn't add considerable bulk or weight so you should be ok.
I like the Saucony Jazz Lo Pro's
