I noticed all the stories I have been doing recently feature a lot of basic fashion colours like white, black, navy etc. However it’s great to inject some bold bright colours into your wardrobe, especially for the summer months. I think one of the hardest colours to get hold of in men’s fashion pieces is yellow. A perfect summer colour, it can really look amazing in contrast to darker shades in your outfit… it will make it come alive.
Also this is a colour that looks great with dark skinned males, or if you have a tan, as it really brings out the colour/complexion nicely. I have recently been on the hunt for some great yellow Tees etc to add to my summer holiday wardrobe, but thought why stop there, you don’t have to stick to the boring basics… jackets, shorts, belts and socks can all be worn in this amazing colour and will really add some flair to your outfits. A great look for the festival season would be shorts and yellow socks and/or yellow wellies if you know that it might get a little dirty wherever you are going.
Yellow works even better when paired with blues – denim, dark, navy, pale and neon all provide an amazing contrast of colour, which will make any outfit work. Anyway, after a few good hours of searching, in no particular order, are what I have found…

yea, well said. just to add too that the colour purple is also on the rise.
I really like this colour and will definitely add it to my wardrobe. Its such a vibrant colour and can be worn easily. I also agree with ‘kappa’ that purple is becoming popular. Good post.
Glad everyone is liking the colour. I love yellow and it’s something I only really cottoned on to last summer.
Kappa is correct with purple on the rise, another colour I am loving at the moment. I will do a post on it next week probably once I have found some good examples.
although i agree yellow is definitely the color of this summer, too much yellow can be tacky… i say one yellow piece per outfit..
Totally agree with you. One main piece and accessory will be plenty to add a splash of colour without looking like a banana
I walked past a dude yesterday who was wearing a yellow jumper and yellow shoes…same shade too, was a bit much lol.
I quite like the idea of perhaps even just a belt and watch…though I’ve got a couple of yellow t-shirts and the colour is lovely – you just *feel* fresher wearing it, dont ya.
Ive got a couple of yellow pieces in my wardrobe I got in 2007! Do you think designers put new ideas/colours in their collections to test the water before really going for a look?
Good article, if worn correctly the colour yellow really has the ability to change the impact of an outfit.
