100 Beards Edition Two Book Launched

The man who made facial hair famous is returning with a second edition of his popular book. London-based photographer Jonathan Daniel Pryce has once again put his popular blogging project 100 Beards into print.

Pryce, who was voted Photographer of The Year at the 2012 Scottish Fashion Awards and is a member of the FashionBeans Street Style Collective, originally set himself the challenge of capturing a beard every day for 100 days.

Fascinated by men of all ages, cultures and creeds who have all embraced the cult of facial hair, the member of style collective: Sartorial 7 documented the progress online. After the project became popular with the likes of Mr Porter’s Jeremy Langmead and Patrick Grant of E. Tautz, Pryce continued with the aim to reach 200.

Along with appearing in the likes of i-D Magazine, GQ and Metro, the project quickly developed into a hugely successful hardback edition, with interest from style influencers both here in the UK and abroad. The original published version of 100 Beards, which was released last year, sold out within six weeks.

The second edition of Pryce’s work – a weighty 250-page color photo book – reveals a closer look at the men met on the journey.

“After talking to these men I realized there was more than just facial hair linking them together. A huge part of the experience was talking to each guy about their bearded experiences and I found it to be both amusing and inspiring to hear their anecdotes,” he said.

The hard copy also includes 100 new portraits as well as outtakes taken since beginning the challenge.
