Occasionally controversial but never off trend, Urban Outfitters has long been the go-to retailer for many of the world’s quirkier clothing lovers, owing to their consistently cool collection of kitsch and suburban chic. In more recent years, Urban Outfitters have also found themselves stocking their stores with luxury brands and collaborations with emerging design talent. Their latest partnership sees the high street giant stocking a new product from contemporary menswear collective Blood Brother – a brand freshly formed in 2011 that draws its team members from many different fields and strives to showcase talent from all creative domains, including film, photography, music, art and fashion. The brand’s co-founders define its mission statement as fulfilling “a need for a brand with integrity, roots and ambition that would inspire others”. The resultant piece is a stylish jacket in a two-tone colour way, dubbed the Alpha Reflect Bomber. The jacket is a classic zip-up bomber jacket with a thick black polyester/polyurethane shell and silver, fully reflective polyester/elastane contrast sleeves – offering a playful and practical take on the ever popular varsity/letterman jacket. Designed, sampled and tested in the Blood Brother studio deep in the heart of East London, the Alpha Reflect Bomber comes complete with soft-zip pockets, an embedded frontal brass zipper and especially resilient seam work. The jacket is available for purchase now from Blood Brother or Urban Outfitters and retails at £225.
