Franklin & Marshall x Rush Capsule Collection
Italian label Franklin & Marshall has become synonymous with American college-inspired wears. However, their latest capsule collection takes us back to the 1970s. The ‘Rush’ collection has been released to celebrate the eponymous film by two time Oscar winner Ron Howard. The 1970s set biopic stars Chris Hemsworth as Formula One champion James Hunt and takes a look at his 1976 season and, in particular, explores his rivalry with fellow driver Niki Lauda.
Franklin & Marshall is paying tribute to this infamous rivalry with a capsule collection composed of five t-shirts and a racing suit, inspired by the original rock ‘n’ roll style that James Hunt flaunted both on and off the racetrack.
The collection was developed in collaboration with the Rush costume design team, and faithfully reproduces the style of the times to the finest detail. The range is also featured heavily in the film itself with Chris Hemsworth wearing several of the t-shirts on screen.
The tees have a definite 1970s throwback feel, especially the tennis courts t-shirt in yellow featuring a decade-inspired black trim. Other prints include an American eagle in red/navy and two different prints featuring palm tree designs.
Yet the collection highlight has to be the lounge ‘race suit’. Perfect for the gym or just kicking back and relaxing in at the weekend, it comes in navy, green or red and, again, has a definite 1970s feel that is brought bang up to date via its modern slim cut.
The collection is priced from £39 and available online at franklinandmarshall.com now.
