G-Star RAW AW13 Campaign

G-Star is continuing to roll out their ‘Art of Raw’ ad campaign into autumn, teaming up with famed fashion photographer Rankin (also responsible for the excellent French Connection ‘Sketch to Store’ campaign). Together they have collaborated to create G-Star’s latest print and video advertisements, starring Kasabian’s guitarist and songwriter, Sergio Pizzorno. The label said that their decision to go with the British musician was that they enjoy working with “unexpected talents who are at the top of their game”. Pizzorno is surely one of those, considering he sacrificed a potential career in football to become one of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll front men of our generation. G-Star, who is well known for their high quality denim, is putting their best and strongest foot forward with their latest release. The campaign imagery oozes the attitude and edginess that Kasabian are renowned for, and this is blended beautifully with the excellent craftsmanship of the product. In addition to these images, the campaign was crafted with an accompanying video. Similar to last season, the brand will include their signature ‘Skelton Dog’. In the short film, the dog will be morph into different objects and personas through a series of powerful explosions. After shattering into campaign co-star Keenan Kampa dancing, it will become a guitar that Sergio will fervently play on until it finally explodes back into the running Skeleton Dog.
