Joanna Startek SS13 Collection
Sleek minimalism is the order of the day in the newly released Joanna Startek SS13 lookbook. Showcasing the latest menswear collection, the advertorial is a visual parade of elegant, crisp uniforms. The designer takes a strong underscore of sportswear and teams with a reserved palette of earthly tones, as well as splashes of vivid colour, resulting in a high fashion aesthetic.
Starring fresh-faced model Marcin Ziólko, sporting a decidedly moody and mysterious demeanour, the SS13 lookbook is photographed by Monika Jeliska. With contrasting backdrops and playful experimenting with colours and shapes, the set enunciates a subtle dialogue between minimalism and maximalism.
Clean-cut silhouettes? Check. Intricately tailored constructions? Check. Youthful and elegant partnerships? Check and check. The Joanna Startek SS13 collection has something for every gent. Sporting dazzling all-white ensembles you wouldn’t be surprised to see in a soap powder advert, the designer encapsulates luxe minimalism whilst pinning athletic utilitarianism down to a tee.
Urban streetwear inspirations are found in bomber jackets and visors, whilst tailored tops, statement detailing and crisp coats secure a man about town vibe. Purposefully youthful and edgy, vinyl-looking sleeves sewn onto plain tops and cheeky glimpses of patterns on collars add fun to otherwise stringent outfits.
Fast making a mark on the fashion world, Joanna Startek hails from the Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz, Poland. Her 2012 debut collection was dubbed the discovery of Lodz Fashion Week by Elle Magazine and she has built a reputation for fresh and innovative designs of the highest quality.
