Nike Air Pegasus +30 trainer
Nike’s Pegasus running shoe is currently celebrating its thirtieth year – and in order to commemorate the occasion, the label have secured Olympic gold medallist and national hero Mo Farah to help launch the latest incarnation of their iconic running shoe.
Who better to be the face of the campaign than the long distance double gold medal winner? As well as featuring in several campaign images (below), the athlete also stars in a short video released by Nike (see below) to mark the shoe’s milestone year.
“Pegasus is one of my favourite shoes, It’s really important to have a training shoe that’s very well cushioned, as light as possible, but gives you that support you need.”

Over the last three decades Nike has continually improved upon the original design, getting feedback from top athletes in order to produce the ultimate running shoe.
Improvements for 2013 focus on three fit zones: the forefoot, midfoot and heel. Strategically placed, no sew overlays give the style a seamless interior and ultra-lightweight feel. Nike’s engineered mesh provides targeted support and breathability whilst the heel offers springy, responsive cushioning. The internal heel counter securely wraps the back of the foot for all over comfort. A reflective skin under the upper helps keep runners visible in low-light conditions, perfect if you’re out on a late night (or early winter morning) run.
The design aesthetics are also top notch, ensuring that it wouldn’t look out of place in your casual wardrobe rotation. The silhouette is clean and unfussy with a lace-up front, and it is available in an array of on trend colour-blocked designs. A highlight for the FashionBeans team is the coral/red/black version – a striking shoe that will look as good down the gym as it would paired with slim chinos at the weekend. For those that prefer a more subdued palette, there is a black/charcoal/grey colour way – stylish, understated and completely versatile.
Overall, the Pegasus +30 successfully fuses function with design, creating a trainer that will transcend from track to street with ease.
The style is priced at £85 and available at nike.com.
