Pony x Foot Patrol Collaboration

After successfully playing host to Pony International’s relaunch of their vintage Slam Dunk silhouette – originally a collaboration with iconic Def Jam Records house photographer Ricky Powell from Pony’s 1982 Collection – London shoe retailers Foot Patrol have graduated to the role of collaborators as they join forces with the East Coast sneakerheads for a project of their own.

Promising an “exciting and eclectic mix of kicks”, the new partnership aims to unite basketball cultures from both sides of the pond, marrying New York attitude with London’s innate sense of chic. The resulting Top Star silhouette finds itself comfortably nestled in the meeting point of both worlds.

Each side of the Top Star features unique and distinctive detailing, with the outside of the foot bearing a perforated upper chevron and the inside foot incorporating a chevron of bright orange basketball leather. The Top Star is available in light or dark grey suede colour ways and boasts a unique laser-etched heel with ‘Gas Mark’ branding and a basketball-rib-etched heel cap.

The custom tongue label celebrates both brands and the laces – available in orange, light grey or dark grey – are emblazoned with New York on one side and London on the other.

The beautifully detailed Pony x Foot Patrol Top Star basketball shoes will be available in a low or mid top cut in the coming autumn months.
