Shopping At Chicago Premium Outlets®

FashionBeans was recently invited to Chicago’s premium outlet mall to get the low down on the massive reductions and big brand names available. The windy city definitely didn’t disappoint, with a much more laid-back atmosphere than New York it is a less hectic place to shop. We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel in the city centre, which was buzzing with activity and stylish people of all ages and provided countless shopping opportunities. The purpose of the trip was to check out the bargains Premium Outlets® have to offer, so I was keen to get there and check it out. Located in Aurora, the mall is a 45-minute drive from the city centre and what greets you upon your arrival is a village of shops. All the stores offer current and previous season collections at knock down prices that include 25-65% discounts as well as daily deals and leaflets in the entrance providing additional coupons.

Key Brands

So what type of brands can you expect to find there? Well, GAP and Calvin Klein are great for everyday quality basics, and both had great deals on classic American pieces – including polos and chinos and, of course, underwear packs. Footwear options were aplenty, with trainers available at Adidas, Puma and Reebok. If you are searching for casual options then the iconic Converse store is for you, whilst rugged boots are available at Timberland and smarter options at Aldo. Denim bargains can be had at Levi’s, 7 For All Mankind and Lucky Brand, whilst high-end labels like Brooks Brothers, Armani, Ralph Lauren and Michael Kors also had a presence within the complex. With the sun in full glare a visit to Sunglass Hut was a must, and with the huge discounts on offer most of the designer frames can he had for as little as $150.

Final Word

Discount shopping in the UK still has a bit of a stigma attached to it, however in America it seems to be much more common, with bargain finds relished and shared. It’s an approach I would wholeheartedly welcome this side of the Atlantic. And the inimitable Tom Ford seems to agree, with his first outlet store in Woodbury Common Premium Outlets® now open. Premium Outlets® have Malls across the US so check them out premiumoutlets.com.
