Staple x Puma ‘Pigeon’ Suede

Jeff Staple, founder of Staple Design and Reed Space, and Puma have joined forces to create the Puma Pigeon Suede sneaker. Both parties have recently released details on their upcoming project, which sees Staple Design’s talent for creating street wear combined with Puma’s expertise in the sports lifestyle market – a truly exciting and no doubt successful partnership. The trainer itself is constructed from premium suede and incorporates the signature Staple Design New York City ‘Pigeon’ to both the heel and the tongue. The upper features a refined tonal grey palette, which is contrasted by the white laces and blood red-orange accents – coming in the form of the rubber sole and inside lining. Only 500 pairs will be available worldwide. Staple Design will see their collaborative design effort hand-crafted in Japan as part of Puma’s ‘Made in Japan’ campaign. Staple are a brand recognised and respected across the planet for their accurate blend of street-minded sensibilities and high-end finesse of art, sport, fashion and multimedia platforms. Jeff Staple confidently states: “I don’t follow trends, ever. I purposely mute myself to them.” The statement quite clearly spells out the ambition, and objective, for Staple and Puma: a timeless creation. A design built to last, not a fleeting trend piece. The Puma Pigeon Suede are priced at $200 and available internationally from 5th May 2013.
