The Sartorial Seven

The Magnificent Seven. Who else watched it relentlessly while growing up? Pretty much everyone, are we right? Not only did it comprise seven of the coolest men on the planet – absolutely no exaggeration involved – riding around on horses and saving an entire town, they did so whilst rocking some pretty serious accessories: Steve McQueen’s neckerchief, Robert Vaughn’s leather gloves… need we go on? Well, no need to thank us, but we’ve found the modern alternative. Swapping the Mexican desert for the wood panelled boardroom of a London PR (but keeping the suave accessories, of course) The Sartorial Seven was set up by Fashion PR and DJ, Terry Donovan – you might recognise him from our street style section. Himself included, Terry has brought together seven of the most stylish and influential men in fashion to discuss and share their unique and differing perspectives on style. The remaining six sartorialists are made up of: Jonathan Daniel Pryce, the renowned fashion photographer behind popular street style blog, GarconJon (part of FashionBeans’ street style collective); menswear fashion PR, Mikey Dale, who was also papped for FashionBeans recently; Choice FM Radio presenter, Jay London; Topman’s personal shopping manager, Phil Green; Alfie-Lee Marcus, personal stylist for Topman; and Nigel Ruwende, stylist and deputy editor of men’s style site, Individualism.co.uk. In the main feature, the style savvy seven take to discussing the new Shimla beaded bracelet, offering up their views on how they would incorporate the accessory into their varying day-to-day styles. In the smaller individual campaigns, each of the gents provides their personal thoughts on varying aspects of menswear today: from Jonathan’s opinion on the future of men’s fashion, to Jay’s thoughts on the importance of accessorising to the modern man. The full feature will be available to view online from Friday at Topman Generation.
