WeSC x Happy Socks
Swedish brands WeSC and Happy Socks have teamed up on a capsule collection for AW13, entitled ‘League of Happy Campers’. WeSC is renowned for their sport-inspired streetwear and headphones whilst Happy Socks continue to produce a vast collection of ultra-colourful socks in an array of prints and patterns. This new collection fuses the unique aesthetic of both brands, featuring classic and simple pieces by WeSC stamped with Happy Socks’ colourful polka dot print. The capsule includes everything that a ‘Happy Camper’ would need for any great adventure: a khaki jacket, white t-shirt, black jumper, scarf and a few sock styles complete with varying size/colours of polka dot print. The jacket is a particular highlight, with the fun and casual piece sure to brighten up those glum winter days. Featuring a hidden zip-up hood on the collar and four front pockets, it would make a practical and stylish addition to any wardrobe. A nice design touch is the incorporation of an on trend orange sleeve lining, which is revealed when you roll up the sleeves for an unexpected pop of colour. WeSC and Happy Socks have selected a rather unconventional model to front the accompanying campaign and lookbook. Peter Stormare, best know for his role as John Abruzzi in hit show Prison Break, is the face of the collaboration and makes for an interesting and fun choice, which is perfectly in keeping with the vibe of the collection and the brands’ Swedish roots.
