A.P.C x Kanye Second Collection

Hip hop’s most prolific hit maker is hoping his second collection with A.P.C. will be just as successful. Kanye West debuted the line, produced in collaboration with the Parisian clothing label, at the French capital’s fashion week. The unveiling was viewed by Billionaire Boys Club creative director Christopher Bevans, and Fear of God’s Jerry Lorenzo. West’s new line features t-shirts, sweatshirts and jeans alongside parachute pants and military style hooded coats. The designs have been likened to those seen worn by West in recent months and those that appear to have matured from the rapper’s earlier collection. The 36-year old, who recently announced he had jumped ship from Nike to adidas, is the first to admit that he has previously been a “fashion victim”. Speaking before the launch West made a speech in which he discussed the importance of allowing himself to explore the breadth of his creativity, not simply his music. “It’s like if you had a housekeeper, and she was the best housekeeper in the whole world, and she said she had the idea to start being a florist. You would pay her three times as much to not follow her dream of being a florist,” he said. Not one to shy away from highlighting his own achievements, West went on to add: “What people don’t realise is actually my music is better when I’m allowed to eat my food and drink at the same time. I can walk places quicker when I’m allowed to use my right leg and my left leg.” The artist also known Yeezus went on to thank A.P.C founder Jean Touitou for inviting him to collaborate with the fashion house. Touitou himself described the line as “precious to me and precious to Kanye too, because it took time and thoughts to get there.” The first drop of the A.P.C x Kanye collection sold out within hours but this time around the line is available to pre-order with expected availability in July 2014.
