E-Tailer Taps British Designer For Collaboration
Amazon has tapped womenswear designer Osman to create an exclusive collection, including pieces available to men for the very first time, as the e-tail giant continues to grow the fashion arm of the business.
Included in the five-piece range is a unisex jumper and tuxedo jacket. The Jacquard knit (£95) in an oversized fit features a Christmas-inspired design while the tailoring (£150) carries a boxy-cut, grosgrain detailing and extended trim.
When asked about the project, the British designer said: “The main inspiration for the collection was Christmas and the party season but I wanted to create designs which are timeless and versatile so they can be worn at any time.”
He also spoke about designing menswear for the first time: “My favourite pieces are the unisex jacket and the jumper, probably because this is the time I’ve created pieces I can wear myself.”
Vice president of Amazon Fashion EU Sergio Bucher added: “Osman is an extremely talented designer and the quality of this collection is a testament to his expert eye, attention to detail, and insistence on high standards.”
Since the start of the year more than 100 new brands have been added to Amazon Fashion. In October this included Hugo Boss as part of the site’s Coat Edit feature.
