Indie rock band Kaiser Chiefs has taken centre stage in an unlikely way, teaming up with the fashion arm of online retailer Amazon for AW14. Lead singer Ricky Wilson, along with bandmates Simon Rix and Nick Baines, have been signed up by the site to showcase new season collections from labels such as Levi’s, French Connection, Dune and Selected Homme. The editorial features on its own mini-site where shoppers can buy pieces directly from the images. Wilson, who appears as a judge on BBC show The Voice, has also compiled his own personal hot list containing a bracelet from FashionBeans collaborators Tateossian, watch from Casio and boots from Hush Puppies. Amazon claims clothing, shoes, accessories, and watches are some of the fastest growing categories among its 35m shoppers. The area has received significant attention in recent months from European vice president Sergio Bucher. The Amazon Fashion boss said the aim is to make the site “the best place to buy fashion online”. “UK customers can now benefit from a growing selection of new menswear brands including Boss Orange, Lacoste, Ben Sherman, Tommy Hilfiger and many others, as well as same day and Sunday deliveries,” he added. Earlier in the year the business launched a dedicated wearable technology platform, stocking wireless charging trousers designed by menswear brand A. Sauvage. Pieces featured in the Amazon x Kaiser Chiefs AW14 shoot are available to buy online now. Prices for menswear start at around £11 for t-shirts.
